I always feel smothered when I go to a beach or pool area and am not respected like men when it comes to being topless. So this time I just went for it. It’s a protest against gender inequality anyway. The last time I went topless in public in the US was 2 years ago at the community pool in my mom’s RV park. There were some complaints so I didn’t do it again there. But this weekend I couldn’t resist because the sun felt so nice and warm on my skin. So I just let my boobs go free. I went on top of a rock and felt like a mermaid. No one said anything or made any complaints. Instead, a man nearby asked for my permission to cross my space. It was really nice to feel respected.
The other guys who were around me when I first took my top down did not check me out or make me feel uncomfortable in any way. It was just nice, and I got a really great tan. I wish the US respected women as much as they did men. There was a little boy that was naked on the beach, and when he bent over, his anus was exposed. So that’s okay, but women can’t tan topless? It seems like boys are not taught to be embarrassed about their bodies or their private parts, but women are, and that’s not only a double standard, but it teaches both men and women that women are not worthy of the same respect and dignity that men are. The other way to think about the situation is, you don’t have to look at what you don’t wish to see, whether it’s someone else’s body, what they’re wearing, etc. Someone else’s preferences should not keep me from enjoying myself and I should have as much right to be topless as all the men around me and still be just as respected as they are.
